Specializing in jazz, Windau is currently serving as Senior Artist Manager for vocal sensation Lauren Henderson, Latin-Grammy-Award winner Joe McCarthy, NEA Jazz Master George Coleman, and as a non-exclusive booking agent for prolific exploratory trumpeter and composer Nicholas Payton. Windau has been featured on stage or in the studio with musical greats such as Bootsy Collins, Jeff Coffin, and Carl Weathersby, and some of her recent projects have included title of Agency Coordinator and Senior Artist Manager for Birdland Artists at Birdland Jazz Club (New York), Senior Artist Manager for Benny Green and Co-Producer of Benny’s Crib (Benny Green: Sunnyside Records, 2020), and serving as a Notation Editor and specialized Finale-Software Music Copyist for Nicholas Payton and Lizz Wright. Windau often quips one of the music industry’s favorite mantras: “It isn’t what you know, it’s who you know,” but has recently started adding a new coda to this age-old line: In today’s landscape, it still is more about who you know than what you know – but maybe now it’s also not what you know … but also what you’re willing to learn that can make or break a project.
