I'm working on a recording of a very "up" tune ( 225 BPM) and after listening to several takes I'm not happy with the result. There are several bars that are voice and drums only. What I'm hearing is too staccato. Any suggestions on how I can make it sound more legato without losing the time?

Hi Tom. I LOVE uptempo tunes! Over 200 is my favorite tempo. :-) A couple of thoughts...if all your words have the same "weight", it can make the line sound unnecessarily staccato. Think of putting in a "pulse" by emphasizing or accenting every few syllables/words. Also, keep your breath going at a steady pace, and let your lips do all the work. If that doesn't make sense, feel free to reach out. :-) Paula@PaulaByrneMusic.com I'd love to hear it!
