She is now a professional vocalist and a leader in nonprofit jazz education as the Education Program Manager at Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG.) There, Rachel has worked towards increased accessibility for vocal jazz education for middle and high schoolers through the creation of the Columbus Youth Jazz Vocal Lab and other various programs. Rachel recently graduated with her Master of Music in jazz studies from the esteemed University of North Texas. During her time there, she served as a teaching fellow for the vocal jazz area, where she instructed private lessons and courses in jazz studies and directed West End Vocal Jazz Ensemble, which was a recipient of a 2021 Downbeat Student Jazz Award. Rachel also recently won a 2022 Downbeat Student Jazz Award for outstanding performance in the small vocal jazz group category (graduate college).
